If you are unable to visit or find what you are looking for online, email us and we will try to help! Appointments are required to access the archives, periodicals, audiovisual media, and other museum collections in storage. Contact the Archivist & Collections Librarian to arrange a day and time.
The LA&M is located in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. We are accessible by buses 22, 36, 151, and 155. We are located about a mile from the Loyola stop of the CTA Red Line and the Rogers Park stop of the Metra UP-N Line. There is free street parking in the neighborhood.
The LA&M and the Teri Rose Memorial Library is only accessible by stairs.
Free lockers are available to store your belongings. The LA&M does NOT always have a computer or scanner available in the library – please bring your own laptop, phone, or tablet.
You will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and to respect any collection-specific access and use restrictions.
Access to audiovisual media and non-exhibited museum items may be limited to digitized copies and photographs depending on the format and collection.
The LA&M may provide digital copies of material or access to a flatbed scanner for the purposes of fair use, private study, scholarship, and research.
