A Pack of Wild Dogs: A Visual Exploration of Pet Play Culture
October 26, 2019 through January 5, 2020
A Wild Pack of Dogs presents the human-animal roleplay subculture in a visual way that is designed to inform, but also to inspire interest-in and respect-for the subjects. By showing the dichotomy between the dehumanizing aspect of its trappings and practices and the humanity of its subjects, we ultimately reveal something deeper about those involved.
This is the first exhibit on the pup community for the Leather Archives & Museum, and we are excited to introduce visitors to this sub-culture that continues to grow each year. In addition to the provocative works of Moore, the exhibit will include artifacts from the archives collections to help provide context and background to pup play culture.
Jamie M. Moore is a photographer based out of Chicago, IL whose main focus is documenting queer subcultures that often go under the radar from the general public. Jamie received his Master of Fine Arts in Photography at Columbia College Chicago. He is also an active kink educator working in the gay leather culture to help new people come into BDSM without shame or guilt, understanding the critical importance of being Safe, Sane, and Consensual.
